Access and conduct
Comfortable to attend alone.
What you can expect from us, and what we ask of everyone in the room.
Access
- Every listing will describe step-free access, seating, restrooms, parking and transit.
- Playback is at comfortable listening levels. Earplugs are available, and we’ll note any louder programs.
- Large-print liner cards are available on request.
- You can step out at any time, and there is always a quiet way back in.
- Companions who assist a person with a disability attend free.
- Tell us what would help: krich@listeningprojectfl.org.
Conduct
- Respect the listening. Phones quiet and no side conversations during focused listening.
- Respect each other. Differences in taste and worldview are welcome. Harassment and discrimination are not.
- No one is ever required to speak or share anything personal.
- Hosts may ask anyone who disrupts a program or makes others unsafe to leave.
- If something happens, tell a host or email us. We’ll respond promptly and in confidence.
Photography
We photograph some programs to share what we do and report to supporters. We’ll say so at the door, offer a “no photos” marker, and never photograph anyone under 18 without a parent or guardian’s consent.
Youth programs
Adults working with minors are screened, two adults are present at every youth program, no alcohol is served at youth or family programs, and a parent or guardian registers every participant under 18.
